More to Know: The Wonder of Wetlands (Adults)

More to Know: The Wonder of Wetlands (Adults)

More to Know is a series for curious adults. On select Mondays, we will hear from a new speaker on topics such as arts and culture, history and current events, health and wellness, hobbies and recreational activities, and more. On Mondays with no scheduled speaker, we will have a fun and relaxing puzzle hour instead, with a selection of jigsaw puzzles, crosswords, and Sudoku.

About this week's presentation

Wetlands are amazing ecosystems that sustain many unique plants and animals. When you hear the word “wetland,” do you think of large swamps like the Everglades? We have many different types of wetlands right here in Indiana. Formed by the receding glaciers over 10,000 years ago these rare places are disappearing. Learn about the different types of wetlands we have in Indiana, why wetlands are critical habitats, what is being done to preserve wetlands, and what rare plants and animals need wetlands to survive.
